Project Genie

AACR PROJECT GENIE and the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation in Collaborative Advocacy/Support

The AACR Project GENIE initiative is recognized by the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation (NLMSF) as a valuable tool in cancer genomics with a mission of advancing the field of precision oncology.  This program is instrumental in improving the field of precision oncology through the development of a global registry of genomic and clinical information from cancer patients around the world.  The genomic data obtained from tumors sequenced from thousands of cancer patients and linked to their clinical care information will enable researchers and clinicians to study the natural history of tumors, gene mutations, and their associations with patient outcomes.

NLMSF’s support of this groundbreaking program is critical at this time for the Leiomyosarcoma patient community.  By supporting and collaborating with the AACR Project GENIE, we can together shine a light on the role of rare mutations in the development of cancer and responsiveness to treatment regimens, therefore changing the future of molecular oncology for the Leiomyosarcoma patient community.

The NLMSF is proud to support the AACR Project GENIE in its focus to impact research on a global scale.  AACR Project GENIE’s database will allow researchers from around the world to investigate the link between genetics and clinical data, including treatment decisions, to improve clinical decision making and enhance outcomes for patients with all types of cancer, including Leiomyosarcoma.  Together we can make a difference!
