Shawn David Borini passed away July 10, 2021 after a heroic 8-month battle with sarcoma cancer. Shawn was born July 18th, 1972 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Shawn graduated from Mitchell High and was a talented artist studying graphic design at Colorado State University with his drawings, paintings, and designs displayed and published. He had a great love for the Colorado outdoors enjoying hiking and camping. Shawn was recently married to wife Edie Borini, after being together for 11 years, and treasured spending his time with his wife, family, and his loyal dogs, Mac and Walter. Shawn was loved by all that knew him and was especially adored by his nieces and nephews.
Shawn is survived by his wife, Edie Borini, step-daughter Isabell, Colorado Springs, CO, twin brother, Chris Borini (Dana) nieces, Cara and Olivia, Denver, CO, sister Erin Borini, nephews, Cooper, Owen, and Anderson Costa Mesa, CA, sister Danielle Garlin (Scott) niece Aidyn and nephew, Spencer Colorado Springs, CO, brother Nick Borini (Amanda), nephews Kamden and Kacen, Reno NV, along with a tight knit family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins that all admired and loved Shawn.
We love and miss Shawn every day. In honor and memory of him, we will complete the Manitou Springs incline in July as a tribute to Shawn, doing something he loved – “The Shawn Strong”. Additionally, his tribute fund through NLMSF will raise funds to help others through research and education.
