Air Travel Assistance for Cancer Patients

The ACA offers a comprehensive national list of air carriers that assist cancer patients. It provides the only site listing all known volunteer pilot organizations dedicated to flying for public benefit.

Serving all 50 states, volunteer pilots with the Air Charity Network use their own aircraft, fuel, and time to provide free air transportation to medical facilities for financially distressed citizens.

Angel Airlines for Cancer Patients

Their mission is to ensure cancer patients have access to distant specialized medical evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments, especially when commercial airlines are unable to assist.

Angel Flight East (AFE)

AFE volunteer pilots use their own aircraft to provide free flights for children and adults seeking medical treatment far from home.

Angel Flight Northeast

This 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is dedicated to serving courageous patients and their families who demonstrate an incredible will to live.

Corporate Angel Network arranges free travel on corporate jets for cancer patients, bone marrow donors, and bone marrow recipients, thereby improving patients’ survival chances. Call (914) 328-1313 to register within three weeks of a specific appointment at a recognized cancer treatment center.

LLP facilitates free transportation for ongoing medical treatments, diagnoses, and follow-up care.

Providing free transportation nationwide to and from medical care for qualifying in-need individuals and their families, Mercy Medical Angels’ 400 pilots flew more than 900 patient trips last year, 21% of which were for injured or sick children.

Patient Airlift Services (PALS)

PALS offers comprehensive air and ground door-to-door transportation assistance across 43 states. Their team of 700 volunteer pilots provides patients and their families with free transportation, with no limit on the number of trips needed.

Sarcoma Oma Foundation

This foundation provides travel-related financial assistance to patients seeking sarcoma-related medical care.

Southwest Airlines offers complimentary roundtrip tickets to nonprofit hospitals and medical transportation organizations, allowing these entities to distribute tickets to patients and caregivers as needed.
